He's not the most distinctive minifigure on this list but he is the most valuable at £ Gandalf Arrives, one of the theme's two vehicle-based sets. Number 1 on our list, Grima Wormtongue, appeared in the same set as Saruman but is more desirable by collectors, which is probably because there are multiple versions of Saruman. You can find him in the famous The Battle of Helm's Deep set and if you've got him in your collection already you're about £30 richer. He sells for just under £30 and worth every penny if you ask me! #2 - King Theoden - £31.00Īrguably the best looking entry on our list with that matching helmet and armor. Personally this is my favourite Lord of the Rings fig and it came with the "Battle at Black Gate" set (79007). Has there every been a more menacing looking minifigure? Probably not. Along with 7 other minifigs he came with the Dol Guldur Battle set and is worth £25.00. #4 - Radagast the Brown - £25.00įor those that don't know who Radagast the Brown is, he's a wizard who was sent to Middle Earth to contest the will of Sauron. In a new condition with a nice crisp cape expect to be forking out around £23.00. Saruman (with long robes) appeared in the Tower of Orthanc, which was the most expensive Lord of the Rings set LEGO released at £169.99. Out of the three, the version that came in "The Battle of Five Armies" which depicted him with a gold crown and armour is the most valuable with a price tag of £21.00. Because he's one of the main characters, LEGO included him in three sets but each time he was unique. #6 - Thorin Oakenshield - £21.00įor those that haven't seen any of The Hobbit films, Thorin leads the group of 13 dwarfs that accompanied Bilbo on his journey to the lonely mountain.
He came in The Goblin King Battle set and fetches around £20.00. His helmet mold is the same as Theoden's who appears further down this list, but with different printing.Ĭoming in at number 7 on our list is Dori the Dwarf, the first of three entries on this list specifically from The Hobbit sets.
#8 - Eomer - £18.00Įomer who becomes King after Theoden's death was released in set 9471, Uruk-hai Army in 2012. He is slightly darker in colour and sells for £18.00Īs a side note the LOTR Azog variant was also a Comic Con exclusive although just the packaging is unique.
There are two different Azog minifigures but this one which appears in the "The Battle of Five Armies" set from The Hobbit theme is slightly more expensive than his LOTR counterpart. He was inside the Pirate Ship Ambush set from 2013 and can be picked up for around £15.00. The King of the Dead is just a fantastic looking minifigure. The prices and images for these minifigures have been taken from, my go to place for buying new and used LEGO. Today I'm going to go over the top 10 minifigures from those sets and how much they are worth today. It's a shame because the theme produced some amazing minifigures, although fortunately I have managed to add quite a few of them to my collection over the years. One of my favourite LEGO themes is Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit although unfortunately they were released during my LEGO hiatus so I never bought them.
